We had just begun a trip to Delaware, so I did not want to drive any further and risk the crack spreading to the point where the windshield needed replacement. Without hesitation Trevor proceeded to collect my information and arrange for an immediate appointment with Safelite for the windshield repair. The repair was “magical” in that the cracks are gone and one would be hard pressed to find where the rock had hit the windshield. "I had all of my insurance with The Hartford through AARP, but I was not satisfied with the overall service I was getting. Calling a toll free phone number and talking with a different person every time was just not what I wanted. They also had to farm out different policies to different companies. I called the toll free State Farm number over a weekend, and they referred me to a local agent. How fortunate I was that I was referred to Trevor Barker! It was refreshing to say the least that I was able to talk to the same agent on multiple occasions about my insurance needs. Trevor doesn't just try to sell you as much insurance as he possibly can. "We initially utilized this agency for our flood insurance during the time we were purchasing our home. We provided an elevation certificate to the agency that was provided to us by the seller. We were assigned a policy and an amount and went forward with buying our home. About a month later we find out our elevation certificate was "expired" so we had to scramble to fork out the cash for a new one $350. Not an easy thing to fork out at the holidays and when you just bought a house... A couple weeks later we get a call that our flood insurance premium would double from $1000 ish a year to over $3000 thereby increase our mortgage by about $200 a month! Needless to say we were upset that this MAJOR issue arose AFTER we closed on the house. We were counting on the expertise of the Trevor Barker staff who encouraged us to give us their business because they were "very familiar" with flood insurance. The Trevor Barker agency never apologized. Rather they acted like "sorry for the bad luck" but they screwed up big time. After making numerous attempts to get more information as to why this happened, could anything be done to alleviate the expense, the office and the staff went radio silent. I called FEMA trying to deal with FEMA directly and they said my agent had to communicate on our behalf. Kind of hard to do when folks wont return your phone calls or emails. Finally a nice lady at FEMA explained how I could transfer my policy to another agent. We have done so. Our new agent even provided us with references of other clients we were able to call to see what their experience was like. The Trevor Barker Agency may be good at auto insurance but they certainly are not experts on FEMA and Flood Insurance."
